Warpaint Beauty is Warpaint [picture laden]

Good morning, everyone [...eh? EH?!]. It seems I've been dead all last week [weak, week, unintentional play on the fact I was sick, and also out taking care of neighbors' cats], but not only that... *Looks hither and yon.* Where... where has everyone got to? Eh? Well... be sure to take care, everyone, do your best. I hope things are going well. The GOLDEN Week approaches... [There are plans of grandeur in my head, but lets see what actually happens.]

Last week, or so, I got out of the house and down to Annapolis with the parent marquis for Pretzel Day [that took one too many tries to get correct]. The Hot Topic was across the way from the Auntie Anne's giving away free pretzels, so I perused with my om nom. I was definitely bent on getting a new color of nail polish. Don't get my wrong, I love all shades of purple, which explains why I have at least five different bottles of that color alone. But whether it was lime yellow or citrus orange, I was getting a contrast color.

As it were, there was a sale on Warpaint Beauty brand cosmetics. So I picked up some eyeshadow and lipstick as well [or at least, for as long as I stared at it reading the ingredient list, I came to the conclusion it was lipstick].

Red~! Red, red, red, red, and that is Triforce you see. In a nice compact cubular bottle, it goes on very thick, despite my expectations. This is just one coat. It also dries very quickly, which is great since I have a knack for doing my nails either right before going to the event I'm painting then for, or before I do laborious activity [like laundry]. I'm very pleased, and looking forward to new manicure combos.

Another thing I seem to do a lot is mistake the forms cosmetics come in. First, I thought the eyeshadow was eyeliner. Thus, I thought said eyeliner was liquid.
Being a roll-on, I did sort of literally roll it everywhere, and smudged off where I didn't want it.
I was wrong on both counts, and the eyeshadow is actually a powder that applies via roll-on. I am not perturbed by the turnout, since I do already have a fair share of pencil eyeliners [in purple, too]. It goes on light, so it takes several roll overs to get is as dark as I'd like, but it comes off with a light swab of my thumb or a cotton ball [which is great since I just let it go wherever really, tsk tsk tsk].

Lastly, but certainly not least, a off the wall desire that I didn't think I'd find so easily. Che blue lipstick.
Hey yo. Otonashiku.
Murrr grrrr... or whatever.
I wanted blue [or even purple or dark emerald] for this purpose alone; to have a black upper lip and a blue lower lip. I do this with red as well, whenever the urge hits me. If I get back to Hot Topic soon enough, I will probably get a darker blue variant as well. This is something most likely likened to anime in my subconscious. I don't know. But this is all I wanted it for. And if it wasn't for the fact that I'm bad about mashing my lips together, I'd wear this more regularly.
So maybe I'll do the manicure in blue or black, or both.
Make-up is more understated in Aristocrat, but it is a defining feature of what makes Visual Kei, well, Visual Kei. That and the elaborate costumes. The weather is definitely leaning into Spring, so I will probably spend more weekend outings in climate friendly Visual Kei as the year goes on. Whether this will result in more make-up posts will still depend on if I remember to do it before I go out, ahaha.
Sigh... I try. I really do love the bags under my eyes, as strange as that might sound.

Golden week... aka Spring Break... come to me...!

Palette Swap Manicure

Good evening everyone~ I feel on such a roll. I would say please look forward to this in the future, as it I did before, but chances are I'm just on a lucky streak. But it would be nice, ne~? The future is a mysterious thing, saa na~. That being said, onward to a little update.

Since we both have Fridays free, Toriberry and I decided to get together sometime between a doctor's appointment and covering a work shift to do our nails. Considering neither of us live on campus at the moment, we floundered a bit wondering where we should go that isn't utterly secluded, or outside [since winter is finally coming around, thanks groundhog], but wouldn't choke people in the vicinity with nail polish fumes. We ended up in a study room in the main library, and went to work. You'll notice the familiar manicure~
It's playing season again, so just the right hand, since there is a noticeable length difference.
Sparkle quota, met.
Again, I used the color changing Del-Sol as a top coat, so added sparkles and bonus ruby-silver in sunlight. [I should really just get some clear coat though.] The blue is really globbing up for some reason; are there methods for thinning nailpolish without it becoming a watery mess?

What are your all time favorite designs, or colors for your nails? Do you have seasonal changes? Are you an acrylic nail type?

Haaaah, brand new week already~? Okay.
Eternally yours,

Revive Kills Zombie!

Hello, hello, minna~! This is a 'Sorry-I've-been-away-apology-assurance-I'm-not-dead' post. All of those things, I am not [hence the zombie joke; from Final Fantasy X, I believe], and I am very very sorry for not following the slightest of blogger ettiquite to post something, anything, for the past three months or so [really, it's been three months...? Ah!]. Summer was really productive, in lots of ways. It was blistering hot. Sooooooo hot. I hear it's still warm in some parts. Anyway.

Since so much has been happening, there's a lot I can post now. I'm saying to myself to try and post at least on Saturdays. I'll do my best. Today is a good day though, so here's a mini-post because I love you all.

During the last week of summer before classes, I had the week off pretty much, so I was made to run errands and things. All well and good. Bought lots of stuff [notably a PS2, his name is Thunder Silhouette]. Among the outings, a few trips to Hot Topic; now I have more nailpolish and Dir-En-Grey [perhaps I'll do a CD review]. Since my nails were to be shortened with the resumed rehersals of the Gamer Symphony Orchestra, I did an alternate color scheme French manicure while I still had them long.
The purple was the new color; I now have five or so shades of purple [if I had remembered I just bought another shade of purple from Target, I would've gotten red instead, I think]. The blue is the same brand, and it's getting thick, unfortunately... Since I don't have clear nailpolish, but since it starts out clear, I used a Del Sol Change-Color-in-the-Sun nailpolish as a topcoat, as it were, just for the sake of preserving the manicure for a little longer. So extra sparkles. I got used to it. This will probably last for a month, and not look too bad [although, when I paint layers of this brand, they seem to chip off in chunks; all layers at once].

Do you have a steady hand? Do you prefer simple, or more complex nail designs? Are you an acrylic nail person, or like all natural growing them out? Favorite colors for nails that you find don't work for anything else?

Ohh, I am compelled to change the page music as well. I'm open to suggestions~
I'm ready for Fall, oh yay~ cooler weather. ^_^

Acrylic Nails revisted; short interlude.

Good evening, mina-sama. For those of the respective United States of America, did you enjoy your Independence Day? Firework displays are more than spectacular, but I hope you all took at least a few moments to spare a thought for the historical aspect, and pay a little tribute to the men who died to give us this right. The right of independence. The right of our country.

Now, I don't want to delve too far, this is after all, just a short little display. Got to save all the meat of tonight's writing for the next part. This afternoon I took the liberty of expirementing with the long acrylic nails that are to be used for Undertaker's cosplay. I filed down the two sets in one packet to see how easy it would be [easy enough obviously, for me to spend time doing all twenty in one sitting]. Then, I proceeded to stick a set on the right hand--since the left is done to my tastes--and paint them while on my fingers; it would be easier that way. Here's how they turned out.

I am most pleased with this. I am, however, debating on cutting them. [If I do, they will be shown in later posts for all.]
Now then, that's all for this one. I'll have to work on how and if I plan to take them off between nights. I suppose it won't matter of course if I just stay up each and every night, what with the rave, the masquerade, and the concert. [Wishful thinking on my part I believe...]
Stay tuned for tonight's post; my attempt to delve personally into embodying Aristocrat.

Nails; Mine and Acrylic

Good evening, mina-sama. Long day, beautiful weather towards the evening hours. Had lunch out in the florida room. The table's been re-topped with faux tile, thank goodness. Wasn't doing so well before that, being exposed to the elements. Went out to one of my nearby super malls, and grocery shopping. Oh how I long to drive out on such weekend outings in full Aristo or V-Kei.

Also on part of early morning outings [which started with deposting checks from various a sundry sources (let that be as suspicious as you want it to)], I visited a beauty salon with the hopes of acquiring a set of long acrylic nails, ideally black and square tipped. These are the finishing touches to my Undertaker cosplay, and it's less than a month away now, so I didn't want to keep pushing it off though I have the time. Undertaker's nails, for those who do not know, look a little something like this. They seem a bit longer in the anime, and now that I look again, I think I might've actually gotten something too long. However, the main problem I had was length; I'm too picky for my own good sometimes in these things. Here's what I had to work with.

I put on a fresh coat just for you, and just on this hand. My right hand has even longer nails, since the left is... 'advised' to be kept shorter for my viola playing. [Oh, and in the background is Sebastian, my yakuza boss youkai little brother. No he's not dead. Just being adorable.]

Here's the ones I bought, with the thumb nail being painted while not on my finger [hence... not being done]. They came in a set of twenty, I bought two. I will probably have to put them on and paint them, which will be fine I suppose. The paint is the same skull brand from Hot Topic that the silver is. When I do, I'll take another picture, and add it to the Undertaker cosplay posts to come.

I did contemplate for a while just letting my own nails grow out and squaring the tip, since I am fortunate enough to not have a nail biting habit, and to have relatively strong and fast growing nails [people to this day ask me if I've gotten my nails done recently, or if they're actually real. While I do enjoy impressing people, I am not so fond of when they deny my answer as if they knew anyway]. I'd just have to... stop practicing during the whole summer. Heh... heh heh.

On that note, now that I have his so-black-you-can't-even-see-inside-the-bottle nail polish, and silver, I think I'll start going back to my alternative manicures. I'm not fond of square tips, but I wonder if that makes much of a difference having round tips in Aristo. If I have any black after Undertaking, I'll do my nails in black, then paint silver on top as the 'manicure' layer. In fact, let me go ahead and finish up the reverse on my left hand.

Decent. I forsee the inverse looking better oddly enough.

I would really like some finger armor/spikes [the terminology seems to vary] for those other days when I haven't done my nails or the paint is in between stages of chipping away. *Adds to list before I forget.* Silver is the usual it seems for Aristo, as it compliments black well; I'd also like to see if I could get slim ones, so I could have two on one hand. Regular maintenance will be another aspect in my Aristo path.

I seem to be delving a lot into clothes and cosplay and accessories and such, maybe the next coming posts will be mannerisms and poise of an Aristocrat. It is still my desire to become a Nobleman of Evil. I'll do that. Plus afternoon tea, elevenses, and viola playing [do I hear a recording in the future...?].

Sebastian is making simply the most handsome sleeping face behind me. Makes me want to use him for a pillow, but he will wake if I do, unfortunately. I'll have to keep my feet up, though... hahaha.

Dream softly, sleep well,
Eternally yours,
Il Ruinante Isaak
